Mari bar Mar

Abayye took Purim Gifts of Food of dried and sweetened grain from Rabbah to Mari bar Mar, warning that Mari bar Mar would consider Rabbah a farmer-turned-leader. He returned with vessels containing ginger and pepper, and warned that Rabbah would say, "I sent sweet items, and he sends sharp ones!": Megillah 7b
Abayye said that although he left Rabbah's house sated, he was able to eat 60 dishes presented by Mari bar Mar, and he wanted to eat the plates when he was done; Abayye said, "A pauper is hungry without knowing it," and, "There's always room for sweets": Megillah 7b
Rav Chisda citing analytic statements by Mari bar Mar: Eruvin 21a
