Rules in Calculating Intent

A person's personal intent is irrelevant, if it contradicts the standard intent: Shabbat 91a

Defining an item for which one is responsible for Transport, as an item which one would consider useful/important: Shabbat 75b

An apprentice's Transport of an item for his master, where it is important for the master: Shabbat 78a

Transport of a food which is really for another animal, but can be used for his own: Shabbat 76a

Transport if the standard amount for liability will not suffice for his purposes: Shabbat 91a

Transport if he set the transported item aside as something important: Shabbat 90b

Transport if he [visibly] changed his mind after designating its importance: Shabbat 90b

Transport if he threw away the item, but not in a permanent fashion, after designating it but before he decided to take it outside: Shabbat 91b

Transport if he [forgot the item's purpose, and] did Transport without indicating his purpose: Shabbat 90b-91a

Transport of an item, and necessary amount for liability for transporting that item, which is important to another person, but not to the one who removes it: Shabbat 75b, 76a, 76b; Zevachim 47a

Liability where specific intent is not carried out, although the carrying is: Shabbat 92b

One who picked up an item with intent to put it away in its space, and then decided to take it out of its space: Eruvin 20b; Ketuvot 31a-b

If one remembered the prohibition before the object landed: Shabbat 102a

If one remembered and forgot the prohibition before the object landed: Shabbat 102a

Above, if the object then doesn't land: Shabbat 102a

If one threw/carried 2 Cubits, remembered the prohibition for 2 Cubits, and then forgot for 2 Cubits: Shabbat 102a

If the object was caught by a dog, or another person: Shabbat 102a

If the object was burned before landing: Shabbat 102a

If one intended to throw 8 Cubits, and accidentally threw for 4: Shabbat 97b

If one intended to throw 4 Cubits, and accidentally threw for 8: Shabbat 97b

If one intended to throw less than 4 Cubits, and the wind carried it: Shabbat 100a

If one threw past 4 Cubits, but the wind carried it back within the 4: Shabbat 100a
